Local32.zip reupload please?

Image
Toddler’s latest local32 and local32a.zip packs are da bomb. Read more here: http://dingoo-scene.blogspot.com/2009/10/new-local-32a-pack-available.html However, they are on Megaupload, which is a pain in the ass, and not only just because of Gollum’s piles. Can anyone upload the files Local 32.zip and Local 32a.zip to a better provider? Or if you’d like to fling them to me by ftp, email me and I’ll provide some server space for (hopefully) easier downloads all round. Update 26 October 2009: MU is working fine! Just soft disconnect, reconnect your router to refresh your ip if you get a "Download Limit Reached" error. Or head down to your nearest internet cafe! Basically, it looks like after one substantial upload, MU logs your IP, so you must either clear it or grab it from a different machine.

What’s the difference between an Atari 7800 and a 2600?

Image
No, the answer is not 5200 (although there’s something in that for all of us). Or 42, for that matter. Proving that Dingoo-ing is educational, until 5 seconds and however long it took to type this post, I never realised that the Atari 7800 was in fact Atari’s attempt to compete with the NES. I always thought it was just a 2600 in a different case, which according to Wikipedia, is not an uncommon perception: A view held by some was that the 7800 was essentially a souped up 2600. Even in an interview, Leonard Tramiel supported this viewpoint, stating "the 7800 is essentially a 2600 with some things put into hardware that were done in software on the 2600." [3] While this view is shared by many, the 7800 is different from the 2600 in several important areas. It features a full 6502c processor whereas the 2600 VCS has a stripped down 6507 processor which runs at a slower speed. It has additional RAM (Random Access Memory) and the ability to access more cartridge data a

Can't wait to see what this man does when he actually has much time.

Dingux Hugo (Pc Engine), Famicom Disk System (Nesemu), Simple theme added. Vic20 and Plus4 config added. Mplayer deleted. Booboo releases new system and toolchain

Booboo has updated his blog!: New system/toolchain Quick post. I just uploaded the latest system files and toolchain. Changes are: Compiled for MIPS32. Previous toolchain release was wrongly compiled again for MIPS I. The whole system (libraries and executables) have been compiled with -O3. Fixed MP3/OGG integer decoding in SDL_mixer. Now for something completely different: if you are having trouble getting dingux up and running, try the following as suggested by some users: If you can't get the dual-boot installer to start, that is, you see nothing on the A320 screen after successfully running the two usbtool commands, try to unplug then the USB cable. No idea at all what's the problem and how unplugging the cable fixes it, though (I would need such an A320 and attach a serial console). If, after installing the dual-boot, you cannot get dingux running, try to do a complete FAT32 format of your card (with ot without partition, dingux now supports both), and then copy zImag

Ghosthrider’s Dingoo-Book Case review

Image
Anyone hunting for the ideal dingoo-case (you know who you are, freaks!:)) should be excited at Ghosthrider’s latest custom-made-for-the Dingoo case: the Dingoo Book! Check it out: Ghosthrider makes these from a thick cotton – denim (?) material. The Dingoo is held securely against the soft bottom half by two elastic bands. The cover flap is HARD but encased in the same soft material, and a thick band is also provided to hold the case close when you’re not using it. Sure, you can raid your grandfather’s drawer and steal his spectacle case, or even find some fairly workable NDS wraps on DealExtreme for your favourite handheld. But those are compromises. Bleeding obvious benefit no 1 of the Dingoo-Book’s design is this: there is now no need to remove the Dingoo from its case to use it! Honestly, I love this case, although, to be honest, it was not love at first sight. You have to get over the fact that it looks, well, “lumpy”. After I used this for a while thoug
