1. looks uglier and bulkier? The betetr shoulder buttons are a nice touch and the faster processor is definitly welcome but as I understand its not the processor holding the dingoo back but the coding (psp has a worst processor)

2. The dedicated audio cpu should give better and faster emulations

3. It looks like both the video out and headphone jack are on the bottom now. I would really like that because I think it is really uncomfortable to play with my headphones plugged in.

4. You can plug your headphones in the a/v jackright now if you wanted, that's not a new feature.

The audio cpu is practical and a pretty cool feature, but... as mentioned, it's bigger, looks more PSP-ish without the additional buttons, and still uses mini-sd. Not sure if it's worth the upgrade - maybe for those who use it as a PMP, maybe?

5. It's not good for Dingux if the rumor about the cpu is true. CC1600 is ARM based according to some discussions I've seen, not MIPS.

6. any info about this product?!?!?

7. Anyone else know if it will be possible for a linux on this new one?

8. I think this is bad news. The more different units that are produced, the more the developing community will be split.

I agree that the shoulder buttons look nice but it screams 'fake psp' for me. The A320 looks much nicer. Thre is a lot of potential still in the A320 and I hope that the developers continue to work on it.

9. I hope that, now that they have a new "better" model, they will release the source code for the a320 for us! Then it would be easy for everyone to improve on it and grant the a320 much extra life.

10. The Chinachip is one of shareholders of Gemei, so it's likely to select cc1600 for A330. In fact, cc1600 is designed by "Faraday Technology Inc" in Taiwan. CChip only provides the plan design. It seems A330 will be able to support N64 emu, but it's just possible.

11. As if the A320 didn't scream "Nintendo" now?

It's a knock off. (?)

Let 'em emulate whatever handheld that makes it comfortable to play!

12. I think we shouldn´t hold our breath, has anyone ever heard something of the A380 again? ^^
Too bad that there are nearly no infos about the cc1600. I just read, it´s video processing power is equal to a celeron with 1,6 ghz, so they named it chinachip1600.

13. Yep, the union of Chinachip and Ingenic broke up in 2008. Before that, Chinachip provided the design plan and Ingenic designed the chip. Now, Chinachip have to select another company to help design the new chip CC1600. So they are competitors now, moreover, Chinachip is Gemei's shareholder, Gemei is not likely to select Ingenic's chip in the future. However,it seems Ingenic's new chip JZ4750 can reach the equal ability as CC1600.

14.
You can plug your headphones in the a/v jack right now
Yes, you can do that but then the sound still comes from the internal speakers as well and you don't want that if you are using head phones.

Besides, plugging a 3 contacts headphone plug in a 4 contacts video jack will short circuit the video signal with ground. Don't know if this is good in the long term.

15. no you can desactivate earphones in the system menu

ReplyDelete
16. That is not (yet) possible in Dingux.

17. USB Keyboard and USB Mouse support are must have items for these next generation Dingoos. That will keep the cost super low on this little NetBook alternative and allow folks with more nickles to spare to invest in a Hub for additional functionality. Then you have basically a NetNut capable of running lightweight web apps and OpenOffice in Dingux. That is the inevitable conclusion of this story.

18. If this does turn out to be a cc1600 device and we get the source code this would be AMAZING!
I hope we can get mplayer on this device then it would BLOW the roof off the ipod touch.

The question is will we get the source?

20. Why are they going to use mini sd again instead of micro. Micro would save space on the board as well as not require you to use adapters. Mini sd is dead. They must be getting these connectors for super cheap.
It would be nice if they had a multipin interface like the Iphone so you could output component video instead of composite, then you could actually get high definition quality video out as opposed to 480i max. But I don't think the dingoo even uses the max resolution out for composite. Now that more people have HD tv's the video out looks kind of blury with the composite.

21. it looks nice i wat one when it comes out :)

22. a,b,x,y,r,l,start,select,on/off switch looks nice, but The Horrible D-Pad Still Lives On!
It just looks like a officially raped A320. Most likey this will be the same as the A320 but have more Emulators, More codecs probably and [Hopefully] better resolution. [surpassing 320x240] I've also read that this thing has Joypad Compatabilites. WIRELESS Joypad.
I'm actually hoping big for this thing.
I wantz my $120 to be useful unlike the A320.

Remember the a320 clone? Superfun!

ReplyDelete
23. A wireless joypad? If that's the case, I sure hope you can play 2 player on it. Like connecting it to the television. One player on the Dingoo, the other on the joypad.

ReplyDelete
24. Uglier and bulkier? I would prefer to buy this one instead of the Dingoo A330. By the way, I can't understand why companies established in China waste its efforts trying to look similar to big ones like Nintendo or Sony... These days everybody perfectly knows that these products are emulators and they are worth by itself. I would expect 1000 times an original design, retro perhaps.
