I'll bet you don't roll out of bed and think about making your own PC before breakfast. Even you do, I bet you haven't actually shipped . Here's someone who has. I reached out to the creator of the Tauon PC-1 , Volodymyr Mishyn who kindly took more than a little time to answer some detailed questions about the PC-1, how it came to be, the challenges of a project like this, his future plans for Tauon OS and what is clearly a very personal labour of love. Many thanks Volodymyr. Your news blog suggests 30 days to prototype, and 6 months to ship! If that is right, it is very impressive, given the technical and logistical activities that had to occur. Is there more to this story? I was looking for available options before I started the project. I got myself a couple PI (3B, Zero) OrangePi, C-SKY. And tried to build some kind of educational PC for my kid. Unfortunately, the performance was awful, using Linux was too complicated even for me (I h
still no fullscreen?
ReplyDeleteit will come, i first wanted to see something on the screen, then sound then sim file and few fixes of things i had broken while trying to get it to compile. i'll look into the scaler today as wel as some menu.
ReplyDeleteCool !!!
ReplyDeleteThat'd be great. The Dingoo needs an emulator that can scale GB. So many great games and the file sizes are tiny!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Game Boy emulator for native OS.
ReplyDeletePerhaps could manage a little appreciation for the work that's been done as opposed to mewling about what it DOESN'T do?
Could you make it work also on Gemei X760+? PLeeeease :D I beg you!
ReplyDeleteGood Work!!
ReplyDeleteokay scaler is working it comes from alekmaul, who in turn had gotten it from the mame sources :) (it's way faster than what i had made). gamesaves are saved in the loaded rom dir now as well. added a splash screen but still no menu. my dingoo is charging atm :)
ReplyDeleteI made some quick background images for this emu (in non fullscreen mode). Take a look:

To author of emu: if you like these, I can send you a source in PSD, so you can design them as you like.
Nice, thank you for your work. I'm really looking forward for a working GB emu on the Dingoo!
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
ok a little update, i had some problems (crackling) with the sound but know what's causing it and it's fixed now. the menu is done as well as the frame's (which can be user defined). there's still a small bug with save state slots but i'll look into that tomorow. As well as some weird slow downs now and then even though it doesn't seem to affect fps so must be sound or something else :)
ReplyDeleteNice work!
ReplyDeleteThanks! A native GB emu is what the Dingoo needs!!! :)
Love those background images!
