GBAGI: Run Sierra AGI games on Dingoo!

Image
Another GBA emulator hack: this site gives you access to GBAGI, which allows Dingoo to run those classic old Sierra adventure games, so you can check out whether you prefer the saccharine sickliness of King’s Quest, or Larry Laffer’s less noble pursuits! Thanks to Anonymous from two posts down for the link!

Teamdingoo releases first Dingoo Custom firmware!

Teamdingoo has released the first custom firmware for the Dingoo.  Known as 1.03TD-1 , it adds the following features to the A320: * Possible to add or change custom themes ( all visuals customizable ) * Fonts can be changed or added Read all about it here: http://dingoo-digital.com/downloads/firmwares/first-custom-firmware-a320-103td-1   This is the link to the firmware: http://www.mediafire.com/?gohznyjqumm Click here for a Super Mario Custom theme: http://www.dingoo-digital.com/downloads/themes/super-mario-theme What a great development for the dingoo scene.  At the moment, of course, you risk bricking your machine for the benefit of cosmetics, but this must surely be the equivalent of Zephram Cochrane’s prototype Warp Engine from Star Trek: First Contact .  Before you know it, the Dingoo will have three nacelles, cloaking and the mother of all phasers .

While waiting for MAME: More “MAME” for you!

Links to: Ghosts n Goblins Renegade Mr Goemon Green Beret Mr Do Black Tiger Son Son Yie Ar Kung Fu Phoenix Pleiads Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr Pacman Gorkans Donkey Kong 3 Ms Pacman All runnable on Dingoo, contained in this post from the A320 freeforums. Enjoy! Now, if only someone could do Exciting Hour , I can stop posting and just spend hours playing!

Gbax.com say they are getting things moving …

From Gbax.com : The A320 is a cool little mini open handheld which is especially good for emulating classic systems such as GBA, NES, Neo-Geo, CPS, Sega etc. It can be thought of as a faster, smaller GP2X, the manufacturer is hoping it will have a similar following. We are working on getting MAME, Amiga and Atari working, together with setting up a developing scene for this device. 430Mhz MIPS CPU 64MB RAM Support for SD / SDHC upto 32GB Open Source /SDK available Digital Dpad, 2 shoulder, 4 face, Start & Select. Li-ion Battery giving ~7hours (Included) Nice Gbax.com! All the best, and please share any news you might have on this.

A600, would you answer some questions please?

Come to think of it, A600, can we ask you some questions? 1. How hard is this thing to code for? 2. How “open” is the architecture? 3. Is it correct to say µCosII is the Dingoo’s OS? 4. µCosII appears to be proprietary – although googling it, information seems very readily available. Is it easy to code for? 5. You obviously know what you’re doing. Where does one begin? (How do I apply my extensive knowledge of BASIC from my c64 :)…) 6. Are you working on anything you would like to mention, or is this just a sideline for you? 7. How likely is it we will see: a. emulators for other systems not currently on the Dingoo b. improvements to existing emulators c. other homebrew software    from developers like yourself? 8. You’re probably sick of the fanboy “we want MAMES or Frodo or [insert pubescent nostalgia system of choice here]” requests … but apart from the moral support and undying adulation from us rabble, is there anything we can do to help th...

Dingoo OS Kernel is µCosII – err, right A600?

Actually, if you’ve read the last post, this whole thread is worth reading: http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?showtopic=47233 A600 also seems to know that the Dingoo’s OS is µCosII. U-cuz-whatsit? Err, google it , and read the datasheet here .  There seems to be some sort of manual here .  Curse me, oh my stenchful cloud of coding ignorance! But for the folly of a misspent youth (playing Mr Do, and doing not much else), I too, could understand abstraction layers, kernels and statements like this: #if OS_CRITICAL_METHOD == 3 /* Allocate storage for CPU status register */ OS_CPU_SR cpu_sr; #endif Thanks A600 – and if I’ve gotten something wrong, pop by and share some corrections please.

Definitive source for A320 SDK and other development tools

A600 (who wrote the Dingoo overclocking app ) at the gp32x forums has confirmed that you can get a Dingoo SDK here: http://x11.gp2x.de/a320 Err, and for those of you who know what you’re doing, there’s this stuff, also courtesy of A600: I''m uploading all the Ingenic FTP stuff (minus the linux part) to megaupload for those interested.
