The ...Same here, I could care less about dual-boot. The original firmware is crap & I'd just end up booting into linux every time anyway. I'm sure everything will perform much better anyway, so I see no advantage to keeping the original firmware intact. Even as a temporary solution until linux is 100% it just isn't worth the effort.Consequence_9https://www.blogger.com/profile/15043351430524442468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912829343775728623.post-62500724589969523342009-05-17T22:23:00.000-07:002009-05-17T22:23:00.000-07:00Yeah, I kinda feel that as well... Dual boot feels...Yeah, I kinda feel that as well... Dual boot feels unnecessary once we got linux fully native, 100% supported, it would imo be better to go with a linux firmware and make it autobooted on the dingoo IMO :) !Martinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912829343775728623.post-70266531259489886532009-05-17T22:15:00.000-07:002009-05-17T22:15:00.000-07:00That's great news :)
I hate to annoy developers (...That's great news :)

I hate to annoy developers (I'm in OSS myself so I know the feeling) but I really think focusing on dual boot isn't the right way to go, at least in the mean time. If BooBoo can be optimised to run nearly or as lightly as the base firmware, I don't see a future in running anything else but it. (Though I bought my Dingoo yesterday purely as an emulation toy, not as a video player or MP3 like a lot of the people who post reviews on DX did).

So instead of having to wait for the SDK and eager people to port emulators (and for that matter anything) to the Dingoo, existing linux code can be modified and we can get higher quality apps a hell of a lot faster, and most importantly not have to worry about the future development and life of Dingoo. Hell, with a good software suite Chinavision might end up shipping the units with it preinstalled. :)

Good luck with development, thanks for your work thus far, and be sure to keep everybody posted!ChrisGrayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16104382148500180138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912829343775728623.post-27573625405186169802009-05-17T21:54:00.000-07:002009-05-17T21:54:00.000-07:00I got too excited... but I'll wait.I got too excited... but I'll wait.Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16195306814593103484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912829343775728623.post-70531697707873320862009-05-17T21:46:00.000-07:002009-05-17T21:46:00.000-07:00I love this and how fast its progressing, thank yo...I love this and how fast its progressing, thank you very much and keep it going Booboo, cant wait for a native release =D !!!Martinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912829343775728623.post-16297703302607616422009-05-17T21:32:00.000-07:002009-05-17T21:32:00.000-07:00Increible¡¡¡
