Booboo explains further about booting Linux

Booboo explains further, translated from the Spanish GP2x Forums (or click here for the original untranslated version) about the Linux kernel booting:

They are not hours so I will be brief:
- I have identified the majority of functions GPIO (when it has awhile I see the form to postear it everything).
- I have found out how to correctly form the SDRAM and the flash.
- I have adapted u-boot (the one that there is in the FTP of Ingenic) to the Dingoo.
- I have taken kernel linux of test. He is the one that is in the FTP of Ingenic formed for the plate TURKEY, so evidently it fails throughout, now simply is necessary to adapt it since I have done with u-boot.
By the way, which was mistaken and unlike I said previously, yes that there is to form registries of the LCD, so my more sincere excuses to those to which has confused. As you already know Ingenic does not provide drivers for LCD IL9325, so will be to currar itself it.
By the way, to that it wants to make experiments similar to which I am doing, to say to him that the FTP of Ingenic has a danger that you do not see. There are things that are in a pile of different sites, other that do not work, etc. To part of kernel of linux, most recent and trustworthy it seems to be to ucosii_0430.rar and usbboot1.4a-tools.zip. This last one is the one that in the end has served to me to find out how to initialize the SOC, since it includes besides the source code of the application (for Windows) the source code of the programitas that are loaded by USB in ram to carry out all the process of boot and engraving of the flash.
Nand-boot that there is in the FTP of Ingenic directemente does not work (it does not do __gpio_as_nand, among others things).
Here kernel starting (I insist: configuration PAVO, so it fails everything almost)

  1. Your blog is absolutely great, I read it every day. Could you please post the original/nontranslated urls beside the babelfish ones?

  2. Please, replace the word "TURKEY" to "PAVO". PAVO is a JZ4740 based laptop. Cheers, Doug.

  3. Now, Linux uses FB and LCD works!
